Ebates and

One of my favorite things to do is go out to eat.  Another one is saving money, so it's nice that I can now combine the two!  First thing you want to do sign up for Ebates.  When you do they ask you to choose a gift card because once you make $25 in purchases through them you will get that card!  Once you're all signed up, go to through their site so that you can save 15% on your puchase,  Now there just enter your zip code and find a restaurant of your choice.  This is great for finding local restaurants you may not have been to before.  You will see great deals already on the page like getting $25 gift certificates for only $10!  It only gets better though because they have a promo going for 80% off using the code SAVE.  Now that $25 gift certificate is only $2 and remember the 15% through Ebates!

Details do apply to use of certificates at the restaurant, such as a minimum purchase or 2 entree minimum.  These details are clearly placed so that you know them BEFORE you buy.  I still would say this is a really good deal especially as a gift idea!

Have you ever went shopping and left the store feeling different than you did going in?  I'm sure you have since we tend to be emotional creatures.  Anyways, I wanted to make a quick post about the importance of letting stores know about your shopping experience.   Good or bad, our feedback lets the store do a better job at serving us.  Many people don't think to give compliments, but I feel like during these times a compliment can go farther than a complaint.  Most people working in these stores would probably rather be doing something else and feel like their job is mundane.  They are there simply because they have to be, but if you take the time to tell them and their managers that they made your shopping trip easier then they will feel so much better.  Knowing that someone actually cared enough to send that email or call corporate, would boost their morale through the roof.  Believe me when I say that from there on you will have that special associate actually happy to see you in their store.  Happy checker means a happy checkout!

    Printing problems

So, today I've been busy trying to figure out why my computer is not printing coupons anymore.  I've searched high and low through Google and cannot find an answer.  My problem is with  Whenever I click the print coupons button it tells me I need to install the coupon printer, which I know I have installed.  I've reinstalled it many times only to still be told I need to install it.  Not only that but when I go to print any kind of Brick coupon, I get sent to a screen with a single line of text and a box for my zip code.  If I enter my zip code it then pulls up the screen that it's being sent to the printer and that's it.  No printing, jutst the screen.  I know my printer works as I can print other things.  I've seen many possible solutions, such as changing the two little letters in the address, or using a different browser, and updating Java all to no avail.  I have sent an email and they replied having me print a test coupon which acted like it was going to print but didn't.  They also told me to do other things which I had already told them did not work.  I'm still waiting for another reply now.  Did anyone out there have the same problem and get it resolved?  Oh and I'm not on a Mac so that's not the problem either.  I hope to get this fixed soon so I don't miss out on any good printable coupons.  I will update you if I figure it out!

      Amazon Subscribe & Save

If you shop on Amazon, then you may have seen this option.  If you don't, then this will make you start!  I never shopped on Amazon before until I got a gift card.  When I started looking around on there I was still bummed because shipping would be as much or more than the item I'm trying to buy.  Then I saw an item with the Subcribe & Save button.  It's an option to sign up for recurring purchases at a time frame you choose i.e. 1 month, 3 months.  With this, you save 15% and get free shipping! You want to know the best part?  You can cancel it after your first order.  This opened up a whole new world of Amazon in my eyes and I found some pretty good stuff there.

      K-Mart disaster!

Went to Kmart to tryout their double coupon promo and I wish I didn't.  It was absolutely horrible.  Instead of typing everything over again, I'll just show you the email I sent to Kmart, stating everything that happened.  Warning:  telling stories and typing papers is one of my weak points lol so sorry if it seems to just go on forever.

"I decided to visit your store today to grab a few things because of the double coupons promotion. I am an avid couponer and take the time to make sure I use coupons correctly and within guidelines. I will say that this is one problem with Kmart as they don't have a coupon policy for everyone to see. I'm not sure how you can have a huge promotion going on but no real rules to follow other than no more than 4 like coupons in one transaction. Anyways, on to my trip. I grabbed 4 skintimate shave gels (one had a bonus razor) and 4 travel size band-aid packs. I was going to use 4 .55/1 shave gel manufacturer (mfr) coupons and 4 .50/1 any band-aid plus the store coupon for 1/1 skintimate shave gel. Well I get to check out and I ask if I need to grab 3 more store coupon books. I didn't think I should have had to but if it would have made it easier I would have. The cashier didn't understand my question somehow and didn't answer. She scanned my items then the band-aid coupons which went fine. Then the Skintimate coupons went fine until I got to the last one and she said it wouldn't scan because of the bonus razor on the one gel. I've never heard of coupons not being valid on an item because it came with a bonus free item but to keep things flowing I said don't worry about it. I'll grab another regular gel. I come back and she tells me my total. I look around for my store coupon book and it's not there. She had picked it up and put it away then says they won't work. I tell her it's a store coupon which can be combined with a mfr. She calls another employee over which says that the $1 is taken off when my rewards card is scanned which makes it .99. At this point I knew I was talking to someone that didn't know what they were talking about. I informed her all my gels rang up at the 1.99. Then she point to the screen where it says the amount of my coupons (4.20) and says that's from the rewards card. At this point I'm getting frustrated and I tell her that is from the coupons she has already scanned and the amount above it (amount saved) was from them doubling. She then moves on to say that I can't use the store coupon because the item is less than the coupon. I say I understand that I can't get overage and that the amount of the coupon has to be lowered. The cashier then scans the coupon which goes through fine......she then goes to scan it again and it beeps and says I have to buy them in separate transactions because it's one per purchase. At this point, I can't believe she even gets through the day as misinformed as she is. I tell her that's not true and she goes to grab the coupon saying it says it right there on the coupon. I then explain to her the difference between one per purchase and one per transaction. She then says she doesn't know but that there have been people up there before that took them an hour to checkout because of it. At this point I was extremely frustrated and said to just forget about everything since there was a line behind me and I left. As I walk outside, I realize why there are maybe 10 cars in the parking lot. Will not be going there until either kmart puts out a coupon policy like every other store and trains their employees about couponing basics. As much as I hate Wal-Mart, I will go there before Kmart again."

Sorry so long but yeah as I think more about it I wonder if Kmart thinks that OPP is the same as OPT.  I tried to think of why the store coupon wouldn't scan the other times and can only think that Kmart doesn't understand per purchase either.

      Coupon Information Corporation

If you're new to couponing and trying to get you stock up, you may have tried Ebay.  I'm not too sure how much longer you'll be able to do that, but that's another story.  Anyways, if you've seen coupons that you thought were too good to be true, some of them might be.  The CIC is an organization that works to end coupon fraud and has a database of all the known fraudulent coupons.  So if you are questioning a coupon or just want to check it out, then go HERE, but I will add that even if it's not on the list, use your instincts.  It's always better to be safe at home than sorry in jail.

      Dove Men+ Care 6pk Soap

So I've got a pretty good deal on this soap IF your local Walgreens has everything in order.  I'm an avid reader of the forums on and I was reading a thread about this soap.  Wags has a deal going on now for Dove products being 2 for $12 and getting a $4 register reward.  If you're lucky enough to have them, in the 6/26 RP insert there is a $4/1 coupon for the men's soap.  That means your OOP is $4 then a $4RR!  Well I run down the street with coupons in hand.  Surprisingly, they're not cleaned out of the soap but when I check out and my RR doesn't print I'm slightly confused.  I asked the cashier and she says it has to be pictured in the ad, which these aren't, so I said nevermind on the soap.  The manager then comes over to void the transaction and I mention the RR and he says "Oh! No problem, I can take care of that.  We've had problems with them printing," then hands me $4.

As I've read more stories on people's trips, they either printed with no problem, didn't print but manager fixed it, or the customer just left without the RR.  So make sure you pay attention and don't feel bad questioning the cashier or manager.  Just because something doesn't work, doesn't mean it was because you were wrong.

Here's a good scenario to use to roll the rewards.
      Trans. #1
      2 Dove Men's+ Care 6pk $12
      2 $4/1 (6/26RP) coupons
      Total $4 with a $4RR

      2 Mitchum Deodorant $6

      Trans. #3

      1 Splash mini highlighter $.09
      2 $4/1 (6/26RP) coupons

      Total .09 with a $4RR

Total OOP $4.68 plus another $4RR for another purchase

      School Supplies

I just wanted to let everyone know that with all the school supply sales going on right now, it's an awesome time to stock up on these things.  Even if you don't have any children going to school, everyone can use paper, pens, pencils, tape, glue, and other school essentials.  Just think about it, how man time have you needed to write something down and all you can find is a used napkin and a pen with no ink haha!   I would suggest checking out all the ads and price matching at Wal-Mart if they have the same brand to save on gas.  Also, to save even more money, you can try braving the crowds during sales tax holidays if your state participates.  If your state does, then you don't have to pay tax on qualifying purchases up to a certain amount.  So make sure you take full advantage of this time and get some good necessities for yourself and even others in need!

      I'm back!

Sorry everyone for being M.I.A. but my internet went out yesterday.  I got to make a few facebook posts and that was it.  It's amazing how much I use the internet for every little thing so it was pretty frustrating, but it's back up and I can get back to the deals!

Thought I'd let ya'll in on a secret....Surveys are awesome lol.  I just cashed in my points and got a $15 online citi card which I plan on using on Ebay for coupons :P.  Anyways,  it was quite painless to get to this point.  I've a part of quite a few survey sites in the past, and usually it seems to take forever to get anything.  I either never get offered surveys or you have to get a ridiculous amount of points to get anything.  Here, 10 points equal a dollar and I've never seen a survey below that.  Get 100 points and you can get a $50 gift certificate at, 50 points gets you a $5 amazon gift card code, 150 gets you a $15 Citi gift card and other options!  Just click the link below and give them a try and let me know what goodies you get!
